Five camera moves worth learning
The moves that do the most work, and when to use each.
You do not need all sixty-plus camera presets. These five cover most of what a short sequence needs:
- Slow dolly in: builds tension or intimacy. Use it as a scene reaches its moment.
- Orbit: shows a subject from every side. Made for products and reveals.
- Crane up: lifts away to show the wider world. A natural last shot.
- Handheld: small drift and shake that make a scene feel observed rather than staged.
- Locked off: no movement at all. The move people forget, and the one that makes the others count.
Pick one move per shot, and put it after the subject in your prompt.
